The purpose of this role is to perform and support the lower risk standard Financial reporting and control activities required each month, quarter and year-end. This position involves handling various accounting tasks, including P&L review, balance sheet reconciliation approval, invoicing, mid-month reviews & accruals. The role collaborates closely with team members to ensure accurate financial accounting and reporting.

Job Description:

Key responsibilities:

• Delivers accurate and reliable output from specific tasks during monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes
• Prepares relevant statutory reporting
• Works effectively with other teams and stakeholders in other finance pillars
• Through their work, assists in supporting compliance with group policies on financial reporting and internal controls
• Supports the audit process, liaising with external audit on appropriate workstreams.

Job Description:

1. Delivery of Month End closure (MEC) activities including P&L and Balance Sheet finalization:
- Review and Finalize P&L for timely closing of local accounting books & BPC submission adhering to group requirements and timelines.
- Manage ad hoc releases, reclassifications, and accruals in the profit and loss statement.
- Perform GL analysis, provide journal support, including reclass journals.
- Post accruals, brand recharge, and other research-related journals for Sen accountant's review.
- Handle intracompany accruals using IC file.
- Conduct month-end trial balance review and complete the checklist.

2. GL accounting & BS reconciliations in Blackline:
- Perform key reconciliations for balance sheet items.
- Review/Approve the reconciliation prepared by operational finance team and follow-up on aged items.
- Compare general ledger balances with supporting documentation.
- Investigate and rectify discrepancies.

3. Contract Accounting, Invoicing & Project review
- Prepare and issue invoices.
- Manage recharge invoices (including salary, travel & subscriptions).
- Handle any ad hoc invoices as required
- Revenue accruals journal Review
- Validate contract-related journal entries.
- Identify any discrepancies or errors.

4. Intercompany:
- Reconcile Intercompany Account.
- Investigate intercompany transactions.
- Resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure proper reconciliation.

5. Fixed Assets:
- Approve and Review Fixed Asset Register Master Data, Depreciation Calculations.
- Verify fixed asset data (e.g., acquisition cost, useful life).
- Review depreciation calculations.

6. Mid-Month activities/review:
- Conduct intracompany mid-month reviews and follow up as necessary.
- Oversee payroll reconciliation processes.
- Prepare and maintain SOPs for the activities

7. Audit Support : Documentation for the organization's procedures/ other audit supporting materials

Professional Experience

This role demands attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication with team members. The Accountant contributes significantly to maintain the financial accuracy and compliance within the organization.

Semi qualified Accountant with 6-8 years of experience in Accounting, Consolidation, Financial reporting.
