What's the Role:
As a Vision-Based Solutions Engineer, you’ll be responsible for creating and enhancing a portfolio of visual perception solutions. Your will be an expert in classical Computer Vision (CV), combined with practical knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which will drive the success of our mining projects. You will have a hands-on approach that requires collaboration with local and international stakeholders, including vendors.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions with Bradken’s cloud-hosted software, edge hardware, and third-party systems. You will oversee local and international vendors in designing, developing, and delivering vision-based solutions.

You will establish, mature, and maintain a portfolio of perception-based solutions for global deployment in the mining sector. You will leverage your technical expertise to enhance existing systems and develop novel vision-based algorithms.

You will have great attention to detail and will create datasets, simulations, and benchmarking tools to enable rapid yet well-proven incremental improvement on existing systems. You will be responsible for preparing technical documentation and training regarding the use of products or processes and administering change management at all levels.

As a Key Technical Criteria:

Bachelor or Honours Degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent discipline is essential. Master/PhD of advantage.  Experience in design, prototyping, testing, and deployment of vision-based systems. Experience deploying vision systems within the mining sector and/or similar harsh environments required. Demonstrable experience across a wide range of Computer Vision tasks including both classical and novel ML/AI techniques. Demonstrable experience or exposure to hardware development and/or system integration. Demonstrable experience in complex problem-solving and root-cause analysis. Extensive knowledge of the Computer Vision landscape, including classical and novel algorithms, vision hardware (operating principles, notable specifications, optical and computational setups), CV libraries (OpenCV, Pytorch, TensorFlow) and benchmarking tools. Advanced programming skills (C++, Python).
The role can be based in Coimbatore.
