POSITION SUMMARY:

With minimum supervision responsible for coordinating thetimely movement and processing of parts on multiple programs orareas in order to meet customer delivery schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibilities may include some or all of thefollowing:
  • Update the production and inventorycontrol system with information that is timely andaccurate.
  • Stage and coordinate work for themajority or all of the manufacturing areas to meet schedules andeffectively utilize resources.
  • Communicate andcoordinate with appropriate support groups to initiate correctiveaction for work orders on hold.
  • Split workorders by generating a new traveler input split and coordinateactivity with inspection and other groups.
  • Asa liaison resolve scheduling conflicts between the shop and thebusiness teams.
  • Troubleshoot and initiateaction required to resolve discrepancies in paperwork or systeminformation to maintain work in process (WIP) dataaccuracy.
  • Coordinate with other functionalgroups to develop and implement daily work schedules short rangecapacity plans and build plans.
  • Monitor andcoordinate actions required to resolve short term capacityconflicts such as; staffing reassignments overtime alternatemachine utilizations and rerouting to other machines facilities orvendors.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing andproduction planning to adjust workloads to reduce or avoidbottlenecks at gateway centers.
  • Participate inteam meetings to develop and implement plans to meet team goalssuch as; schedules quality cost etc.
  • Updateinformation using CRT and/or personal computer for specialscheduling needs or projects.
  • Coordinaterelease of material/components to fill shortages for orders in workin process.
  • Assist in the development andimplementation of procedures designed to enhance departmentalproductivity.
  • Work in conjunction with theplanners for new parts procurement and/or processed partsrequirements on a daily basis for parts shortages and on requestparticipate in long range planning meetings. Also satisfyrequirements for aircraft on ground (A.O.G.) maintenance agreementsand expedited jobs.
  • Define component shortagesrequired to support the assembly build schedule. Track work orderand purchase order status to assure customer requirements areachieved.
  • Develop and maintain recoveryschedules (ESDS) to support customer requirements.
  • Prepare customer status reports and respond to shippinginformation requests from the contracts function.
  • Request and prioritize tooling and tapes required atstation including tooling in house or at vendors.
  • Provide support to area or team by ordering prints setupsheets etc.
  • Move materials utilizing forkliftdolly hand truck or other types of carts.
  • Monitor and coordinate the packaging of parts to preventdamage.
  • Train and assist less experiencedemployees.
  • Adhere to company safety rules andregulations.
  • Perform other relatedresponsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Three years of dispatching shop scheduling or productionplanning experience in a computerized manufacturing systemenvironment or demonstrated ability to perform describedresponsibilities.
  • Proficient in theapplication of MRP2 concepts.
  • Knowledge ofmaterial requirements planning capacity planning and shop floorcontrol required.
  • Knowledge of AMAPSrequired.
  • Knowledge of A.P.I.C.S.concepts/principles preferred.
  • Thoroughunderstanding of manufacturing routings travelers andblueprints.
  • Ability to provide positiveleadership/training in a team environment.
  • Maybe required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Mustdemonstrate effective verbal written and interpersonalcommunication skills.
  • Ability to workeffectively with others and be a participative teamplayer.
