Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher to join our passionate team of educators. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our young learners, instilling a love for learning and facilitating their growth in a stimulating and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities: As a Primary Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher at Ruh Continuum School, you will:

Curriculum Delivery:

Implement the Cambridge Pathway and IB curriculum in a creative and engaging manner. Develop and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the school's educational goals and standards. Foster a love for learning by creating a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment.

Classroom Management:

Establish a positive and respectful classroom culture that encourages student participation and collaboration. Manage classroom behavior and address any disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner. Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Student Assessment:

Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress. Track and analyze student performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions as needed. Provide regular feedback to students and parents on academic and behavioural developments.

Parent and Community Engagement:

Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians through regular meetings, newsletters, and conferences. Participate in school events and community activities to foster a sense of belonging and collaboration. Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on educational trends, teaching methodologies, and curriculum enhancements. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to a supportive and innovative teaching community.

Positive Disciplining and Constructive Language Approach:

Implement positive disciplining strategies that promote a nurturing and respectful classroom environment. Utilize constructive language and communication techniques to guide and redirect student behaviour. Encourage self-awareness and self-regulation among students, helping them develop essential life skills. Model and teach conflict resolution techniques that emphasize empathy and compromise.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).  A degree or certification in Child Psychology is a plus. Valid teaching certification. Previous experience teaching in a primary or elementary school setting. Familiarity with the Cambridge Pathway and IB curriculum is a plus. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Passion for working with young children and helping them reach their full potential.
