About the Role
:We are looking for a Network Analyst with a great passion for internet network protocols, cyber security, and network infrastructure to join our global Connectivity Service team supporting the implementation of Security Service Edge (SSE). We are equipped with solutions & tools to obtain a real time health-status of IT systems. This enables you to be efficient in detecting potential or evident IT service failures, as well as cyber-security incidents, before a considerable impact is affecting business operations.
As an integral part of the Incident Management process, you perform a first technical analysis/diagnose, coordinate responsible support teams in a multi-vendor-support model, assure SLA thresholds, and escalate problematic situations where appropriate. In this role you prioritize and manage several open cases within a central ticketing system (Service NOW) and you play a fundamental role in evaluating the performance of IT Service Providers (vendors). Projects, service improvement initiatives and an active Knowledge Sharing & Technical Training culture adds an exciting flavour to this role, which covers a wide-ranged service spectrum, such as Wireless & Premise Network LAN and MAN, SD WAN, DC LAN, private and public Cloud Connectivity, Internet, Security, Firewall & Security Services, VPN, Load Balancing Services, DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management.
Your main responsibilities are to:
Respond to network incidents and outages promptly, troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize downtime and service disruption. Coordinate with the managed service provider to ensure the effective implementation and management of SSE solutions, including Secure Web Gateways (SWG), Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA). Maintain and update network configurations, ensuring they align with best practices and security policies. Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures, and incident reports. Ensure network operations comply with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements. Provide support for network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Assist users with network-related issues and provide technical support as needed. Continuously monitor network performance, availability, and security using various network management tools and systems.About the Team:
Edge & Connectivity Services is a newly formed area consisting of three teams (Cloudflare, Gateway Services and Connectivity Services) that address the challenges of hosting Swiss Re's public endpoints and the connectivity within the Swiss Re landscape. The teams deal with securing the edge, hosting gateways for APIs as well as data integration and are centrally responsible for connectivity across the Swiss Re backbone and for general addressability. This includes internal endpoints in both the private and the public clouds.
About you:
Resilience, stability, and availability of services is at the core of your DNA, and in your previous roles you have ample experience in monitoring network performance, managing network incidents, and ensuring high availability and reliability of network services. including emergencies.
You are attracted by the challenges of being responsible for the stability of base services forming the Swiss Re backbone and feel comfortable driving problem resolution investigations. You are able to remain calm and focused even in stressful situations.
As SSE Network Analyst , you are an experienced professional with a hands-on mentality and operational skills. In particular, you possess
+5 years of experience in a technical / network support role Experience with cloud-enabled networking and Security Service Edge products. Working knowledge in the areas of Cloud Network services, secure gateways, WAFs, DDI, CDN, SDWAN, LAN, firewalls, and Internet breakouts/proxies Must have proven knowledge of DDI Services (DNS, DHCP, IP Addressing) in a global environment. In addition, must have proven knowledge in at least two of the following areas: Routing and switching experience in technologies (such as BGP, MPLS, Spanning Tree, , SD-WAN, SDN configuration, Network automation tools (. RestAPI), Network Access Control using Cisco ISE, 8021X, AAA, and ACS, Cisco Wireless networks (WLC, Prime, DNA), Azure networking. CCNA/CCNE or an equivalent qualification is preferred. Good understanding of Network Services and the related internet protocols, Firewalls, and network security Understand complex technology stacks and their dependencies.
