Job Summary: 

Based in Gurgaon office, performs purchasing of Goods / Services for IT and Office Administration for various Bechtel offices, including bidder prequalification, bidder lists, bid solicitation, bid analysis, negotiation, and commitment of Orders. Communicates with local/global suppliers, and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements. Present progress reports to India office Procurement Manager and participate in periodical reviews. 

 

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Perform purchasing activities including goods and services for Bechtel India and other global offices 
  • Review Purchase requisitions / Material requisitions and co-ordinate with users in various Bechtel offices across the globe for any clarification 
  • Ensure sourcing execution in accordance with Bechtel Processes and Procedures 
  • Carry out pre-qualification assessment of new vendors in collaboration with the IT and Office Service department 
  • Carry out bid solicitation, bid analysis and award 
  • Prepare Approval for Expenditure and obtain necessary approvals through system 
  • Coordinate with Suppliers for timely delivery and complete receiving of material in the system 
  • Accountable to the schedule and timely issuance of Orders 
  • Input supplier performance into the Bechtel Digital Supply Chain System 
  • Bring innovation in supplier selection phase and extend support to user department during execution 
  • Knowledge of the legal and commercial aspects of procurement 
  • Collaborate with user department and suppliers. Conduct regular meetings / discussion to resolve outstanding issues 
  • Participate in Invoice review/approval process and ensure timely payment to suppliers 
  • Provide support and appropriate knowledge to team members on the work process / deliverables 
  • Require minimal supervision during performance of various purchasing activities 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a reputed University. 5+ years of relevant experience in purchasing IT and Office admin equipment and services 
  • Proficiency and experience in the formation & administration of Purchase Orders / Agreements for Office and IT goods and services 
  • Experience on start-to-end process of Procurement operational activities.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in all phases of procurement including effective communication with Suppliers, prequalification & selection of bidders, compilation of bid requests and address bidder’s clarifications 
  • Knowledge of IT hardware purchase and experience of executing Order value  
  • Strong Negotiation skills 
  • Skilled in working with and informing effectively both orally and in writing with other functional groups, primarily IT, Office Administration and Finance.
