1) Job Purpose

The Internal Communications team member is responsible for creating and implementing internal/employee content and contributing to programs that actively engage internal audiences. Reporting to Lead Internal Communications, this person translates business strategies into key messages, develops appropriate internal communications initiatives in support of those strategies, and executes and drives programs that create excitement, drive engagement, align teams and shape culture.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability to execute communications plans, strong writing skills, and a natural ability to think strategically while delivering tactical results. This role works with firm management and internal teams (including but not limited to Human Resources) to communicate new information and promote the firm’s special strengths and values.

Supporting Actions

Lead the intranet

Lead the day-to-day management of the intranet portal – ensure the content remains fresh and updated regularly, highlight issues and assist in troubleshooting, provide training to new users. Lead the implementation of new features and microsites on the intranet. Collaborate with unit communication SPOCs to identify and create compelling content for our audience. Explore and create different forms of content for the intranet – such as podcasts, videos, explainers, etc. Track and measure mechanism for intranet analytics, in terms of reach and engagement. 

Drive internal communications

With the oversight of the Lead Internal Communications, design and implement internal communication campaigns on culture, diversity, digitalisation, employer branding, etc. Plan and own the design, content, and delivery of the fortnightly newsletter – Hi Lights.  Nurture relationships and be a pro-active point of contact with other teams including Marketing, HR, Business Transformation, and others as required. Drive proactive employee engagement campaigns on owned platforms

Provide communications support

Partner with HR/Marketing/Investor Relations/CSR/Business Transformation teams to develop marketing assets, such as, emailers, videos, newsletters, articles llaterals for internal (eg: employee induction, ABG Awards)  § Support internal events basis the support required by the core project team – conceptualisation, event management, content development, amplification of the project across platforms, etc.

Unit Communications

Proactively reach out to function and unit level SPOCs for new story ideas from across Hindalco and showcase them in various formats.
