The CG Supervisor collaborates with VFXSupervisor to determine and manage the technical approach needed toachieve the creative and quality goals of the project within theproject budget schedule andresources.

Description:

  • Workclosely with Comp Supervisor 2D Supervisor Producers artists andother necessary departments in creating high quality visualeffects
  • Provide clear direction to all CGdepartments setting clear objectives and monitoring the processprogress and results
  • Clearly brief developerson R&D and pipeline requirements in solving daytoday issues andproactively eliminate potential problems in pipeline tools beforethey impact the production
  • Determine modify andmaintain the most effective and efficient technical approach andworkflow possible
  • Assist Coach Mentor andSupervise the artist in achieving all technical aspects ofproduction including assets dev rigging animation lighting andFX
  • Keep up on current technology trends andtools (hardware and software) that best suits the production andBOTVFX in the development of a stronger creative technicalenvironment on the CG side.
  • Design andimplement the technical artistic pipeline and workflow and madesure the tools for the project are up to thetask
  • Train the team members and review theirwork ensuring high standard results
  • Work withCreative Resources to define recruiting goals to achieve theappropriate balance of qualified artists.
  • Buildnext in line leaders and artists for the respective CGdepartments


Requirements:

  • 3years of work experience as a supervisor in a film/TV with theability to ensure artists work is of a high standard bothartistically and technically.
  • Excellentorganizational communication and project managementskills.
  • A thorough understanding of the visualeffects process and the ability to interpret the artistic brieffrom the VFX supervisor.
  • Good technicalunderstanding of CG pipelines and the ability to specify efficientworkflows and identify additional toolsrequired.
  • Excellent working knowledge ofOptimised rendering solutions experience with RenderMan and/orArnold is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Pythonscripting considered a strong asset.
  • ExcellentMaya skills including a good understanding of modelling texturinglook development lighting and colour particles fluids and dynamicsand excellent attention to details..
  • Thoroughunderstanding of the various technical and creative aspects ofproduction for CG pipeline.
  • Completeunderstanding of all areas of 3D (modeling rigging texturing lookdevelopment environments creature FX lighting and FX) as well asunderstanding of the 2D pipeline isessential.
  • Proven team leadership strongmotivational skills and willingness to shareknowledge.
  • Previous experience with teammanagement and task assignment isrequired.
  • Technically and creatively astute.Must have a sense of strong team dynamics and positive moralegenerating style.
  • Ability to be a handsonperson and work under tight deadlines.
  • Previousexperience training mentoring and recruiting CGartists.
  • A strong Demo Reel showing artisticsensibility and creative problemsolving
