The Quality Assurance Test Lead will be responsible for establishing the quality assurance function for Nexus, our internally built decisioning platform. This is a test lead role and responsibilities include the creation, preparation and conduct of a quality assurance process as well as the overseeing of development and execution of test plans and test scripts. The candidate will work with Test Manager to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology for the program. Establishing an automated test process whenever possible is key to the role. The candidate will plan and direct all quality assurance schedules and assignments to ensure the decisioning platform is operating within an established set of quality standards, as well as reporting status to Test Manager.

Hiring Requirements

Core Responsibilities

  • Min 7 years of experience in Automation Testing 
  • 5 or more years of experience developing API and UI test automation projects using Selenium and/or other automation tool
  • Experience with SQL and Database/backend testing
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment
  • Experience with test management tools like Rally, Jira and/or Octane
  • Strong understanding of test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber
  • The ideal candidate has extensive experience implementing an automated testing strategy at all layers of the application, especially at the API and UI layers
  • Experience integrating automated testing processes with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkin
  • Experience using source control solutions such as Git/GitHub
  • Technical background and experience working with web-based applications
  • Must be flexible, independent and self-motivated with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • We are looking for a passionate, experienced engineer with a strong background in programming combined with a passion for software quality and test automation
  • Collaborate with the Product and Development teams to create user stories, define acceptance criteria, and build test plans
  • Working with the existing QA and development team members, implement a comprehensive test strategy
  • Make recommendations on how our current testing processes can be improved
  • Integrate test automation into the CI/CD pipeline and increase the organization's speed to market
  • Maintain existing tests, write manual and automated tests while features are being developed
  • Manual test application components where automation is not a good fit
  • Test and validate software to ensure that it satisfies requirements and is free from defects
  • Analyze the root cause for testing failures and open appropriate tickets with sufficient findings
  • Ability to independently plan and drive a project
  • Desire to impact culture, motivating and inspiring others to learn and grow
  • Actively engage in defect reporting and triaging
