Job Title: Software Application Development Engineer



About the Role:



We are seeking a highly skilled Software Application Development Engineer to join our team at Altair Engineering. As a key member of our PollEx development team, you will be responsible for developing new features and maintaining existing ones for our PollEx product (ECAD).



Your Key Responsibilities:




  • Develop new features and maintain existing ones for the PollEx product using VisualStudio.
  • Integrate with other Altair products (SimLab) and lead GUI-related work.
  • Overall maintenance for PollEx products.
  • Develop new functions in response to customer requests among PollEx products.
  • Collaborate with other applications and proceed with new development projects.


Requirements:



We are looking for a candidate with:




  • At least 3 - 4 years of expertise in C++ software development.
  • Excellent C++ knowledge.
  • Good command over data structures and algorithms.
  • Proficiency in C++ programming and object-oriented application design.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software projects on time.
  • Experience or knowledge of parallel programming and related data structures will be a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and software development for Windows and Linux.
  • Technical knowledge of mathematical operations.
  • Team-oriented with an open forward-thinking mindset.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must be able to work without a lot of guidance.


Preferred Qualifications:



Additionally, a candidate with:




  • QT knowledge will be an asset.
  • Python knowledge will be an asset.
  • Major in electronic engineering or computer science.
  • Exposure to Linux development.
  • Excellent debugging skills.
  • Korean communication skills.
