Product Owner, Financial Planning Digital Platform - SLGS

The Digital Platform team is looking for a Product Owner to lead a team that’s building the platform to integrate digital financial planning into our web and mobile platforms and our data architecture.

This role will work closely with our partners across multiple business units to ensure the prioritization of development aligns with the financial planning program’s over-arching objectives and most importantly, the needs of our Clients. This role is responsible for all facets of the preparedness, execution, change management and overall success management of the features that are implemented as part of the agile team’s development.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with One Sun program stakeholders to ensure digital products align with the program’s strategy and requirements Integrate your team’s delivery into the broader program delivery schedule, identify interdependencies inside and outside of the program and set a clear path forward for the team on a quarterly basis. Setting an ambitious and clear vision for each feature that aligns to the overall journey vision and communicate that vision effectively to stakeholders, your team, and the organization Work closely with business leaders to establish each feature’s business value, and support messaging communication and customer outreach as necessary Prioritize and manage items in the back-log that allow you to maintain a back-log that is 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team Use market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria for the team Determine end-to-end team output strategy from inception to production Be accountable for product specific OKRs and communicate progress to stakeholders Stay at leading edge of existing market solutions/components being able to identify how they can transform our experiences. Be an advocate for simplicity of design and development, in order to deliver to market as effectively and efficiently as possible in order to gain consumer feedback earlier. Oversee all required changes to completion by implementing timelines, tracking, and closely overseeing risks and dependencies. Monitor already launched digital assets and determine how to optimize their performance, by developing a framework to measure impact of improvements. Identify experimentation opportunities and propose test and learns.

Assets: 

Knowledge of Sun Life’s products, systems, and competitors  Understanding of Sun Life brand, market segments and clients  Experience in working in financial services or other technology firms, focused on client experience  Certified Scrum Product Owner certification 

Education / Experience:

Work experience in digital product ownership, product management, product marketing, Insurance Business , Investment Business University degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business or Information Technologies
