JobRequirements:

  • Work aspart of Teradata database administration team to maintain TeradataDEV UAT PROD COBenvironments.
  • Monitor and maintainall Teradata infrastructure including backup servers tape librariesand Data domainservers.
  • Coordinate withvendors on issues with software hardwareetc.
  • Conduct capacityplanning and performance analysis of Teradata database &Netbackup.
  • Work on projects toupgrade existing infrastructure or deploy new systems to increaseperformance orcapacity.
  • Improve Teradatasystem performance by performing query performance tuning andimplementing appropriate workload rules.
  • Designing andimplementing custom disaster recovery solutions to replicate thedata from production to disaster recovery system.
  • Respond and resolvecomplex customerrelated issues.
  • Indepth knowledge ofTeradata Netbackup EMC Data Domain and scripting skills to optimizethe Teradata environments.
  • Work on securityadministration like Full disk Network Media encryption andHardening.
  • PDCR (Performancedata collection and reporting) installation migration configurationtroubleshooting andreporting.
  • View point DatalabQuerygrid Datamover BAR setup and configuration.

TechnicalSkillsRequired:

  • 5 to 8years of experience in Teradata core and applicationDBA.
  • Extensive handsonexperience in setting up the Structure Database User role profilesSpace as per Teradata bestpractices.
  • Experience in SUSELinux Netbackup and EMC data domain systemadministration.
  • Extensive experiencewith Teradata upgrade like DBS Version Floorsweep.
  • Experience indatabase cloning Disaster Recovery Workload management Down AMPrecovery.
  • Handson experience onUtilities like Showspace Showlocks Packdisk Checktable ScandiskTSTSQL Vprocmanager Configetc.
  • Handson experience inBackup Restore and Data copy using Data mover FEML ARCMAIN DSAetc.
  • Perform securityaudits which includes designing and implementing IPFilteringGateway security.
  • Perform capacityplanning and forecasting.
  • Maintain workloadmanagement (TASM) to appropriately match the current requirementand making changes to workload based on new requirement for thebetter management of thesystem.
  • Generating TSETreport for day to day Teradata incidents and also importing datademographics/Stats usingTSET.
  • Exceptional knowledgeon DBS controlparameters.
  • Building the TeradataDR systems by cloning the production environment and automation ofDR synchronization process based on givenRPO/RTO.
  • Creating and managingData LABS & deploying UDFs (SHA Oracle java) on userrequest.
  • Implementing andreviewing the ACL/Firewall rules to ensure required security rulesin place.
  • Keep up to update ondatabase systems and features 3rd party tools and match withcurrent industrystandards.
  • Performing periodicaudits especially for the users who are having destructive/DMLaccess. Raise SIRT if required.
  • Handson experiencewith SYSYINIT TDPUT DIP TVS (Teradata virtual storage) & TIM(HeatMap Udf)SWS.
  • Scheduling upgradesaccording to the need or EOS/EOVSrequirements.
  • Develop and implementdatabase performance monitoring process and analyze monitoring datafor performance optimizationopportunities.
  • Resolve databaseperformance capacity replication issues and other distributed dataissues.
  • Defining andmonitoring stats collection and also proactively optimizing them asneeded to help the queries to run efficiently onsystem.
  • Constantly researchto improve the performance of the system by sharing any newchanges/features available in the Teradata system with thedevelopment team.
  • Perform productionimplementations and work with application developers to tune theirSQL for standard coding practices and creating DBA policiesprocedures andstandards.
  • Set Teradatastandards w.r.t database design physical data storage maintenanceaccess and security administration.
  • Design and implementstandards for monitoring; ensure database environment are runningeffectively including backups and disasterrecovery.
  • Handson experiencewith different hardware system models such as appliance enterpriseetc.
  • Provide mentoring andeducation along with technical guidance and direction to theteams.
