Job Overview:

The Test Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure high-quality software products. Key Responsibilities:

  • Automation Framework Development:
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and robust test automation frameworks.
  • Continuously improve existing test automation frameworks to adapt to changing software requirements.
  • Test Script Development:
  • Develop automated test scripts for functional, regression, performance, and load testing.
  • Ensure test scripts are well-documented and reusable across different projects.
  • Test Execution:
  • Execute automated test scripts as part of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and report them using appropriate bug-tracking tools.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with software developers, QA engineers, and product managers to identify test requirements.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure testability and overall quality.
  • Test Strategy and Planning:
  • Contribute to the development of test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on project requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency and coverage through automation.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in test automation.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the overall testing process.
  • Reporting:
  • Provide regular status updates and test execution reports to the QA lead and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on test automation.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, Appium, etc.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
  • Proficiency using libraries like Selenium (Key Skill) for Web Based Automation Testing
  • Strong knowledge of software development and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based testing platforms and tools.
  • Knowledge of performance and load testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, Certified Software Test Automation Engineer) is a plus.
