Job Description SummaryThis opening is for a GE90/GP TCF Module Mechanical Design Lead Engineer within GE90/GP Engineering section at GE Aerospace Bangalore Engineering Center. Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. You will be required to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team including but not limited to Supply chain, Assembly, Systems, Programs, Manufacturing Programs, Quality, Repairs, PSE, Materials and other functional teams to achieve the desired outcome for the module.Job DescriptionSite OverviewEstablished in 2000, the John F. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.Role OverviewIn this role, you will report to GE90/GP Aft Engine LCE Design Sub-Section Manager, GE Aerospace Bangalore Engineering Center. In addition, you will interface with organizations such as the Engineering, MRO, supply chain, CEO and services organization. As a Lead Engineer, your responsibility broadly includes:Independently own and execute GE90/GP TCF programs requiring design, analysis, test, or integration to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirementsBe the first point of contact from LCE on any query from sourcing/supplier/fleet/repair/customerAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresCollaborate and Communicate with all stakeholders on project status, business issues and significant developments as appropriateResponsible to support shops for Departure record resolution and shop visit cost reductionShould network & establish strong connections with Commodity CTHs, Cross functions teams viz. Shop, SC, Repair, MAE, CTPs and Shop technical teams to achieve the desired outcomes for moduleDemonstrate clear thinking, strong technical articulation, manage handoffs between different organizations.Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules, and customer commitments.Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions on ESM limit extensions, special procedures, etcAdopt Lean in day-to-day work for process improvementsDemonstrate collaborative work style and team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externally Required Qualifications Bachelors/ Master's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalentMinimum of 4 years of experience in Aviation Engines or Turbo machinery Engineering position (design, analysis, systems, services)Exposure to structures design and Manufacturing processes will be added advantageStrong Design creativity and problem-solving capabilitiesStrong project management skills including cross-functional coordination of activitiesExcellent communication and presentation skills Desired Characteristics Familiarity with Turbine Center Frame moduleStructures parts analysis, design & manufacturing experiencePrevious experience in component hardware ownership role will be added advantageStrong oral and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and leadership skillsAt GE Aerospace, we have a relentless dedication to the future of safe and more sustainable flight and believe in our talented people to make it happen.
