Role Overview

The Team Lead- Compliance (Advisory) will play a key role in providing proactive regulatory guidance and advisory support to business, product, risk, operations teams. The incumbent will ensure that all new business initiatives, partnerships, and product offerings comply with applicable RBI regulations and internal policies under the Scale-Based Regulatory Framework (NBFCUL). The role requires strong regulatory interpretation skills, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic advisory capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary advisor to business, product, risk, operations teams on regulatory implications of new initiatives, partnerships, and product structures.
  • Interpret and communicate RBI circulars, Master Directions, and notifications, translating them into actionable internal guidance.
  • Review new product proposals, marketing materials, and process changes for compliance alignment.
  • Evaluate outsourcing arrangements, digital lending partnerships, and co-lending models for regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare compliance reports, MIS and dashboards for the senior management and the Board Committees.
  • Identify emerging compliance risks and recommend preventive or mitigating actions.
  • Ensure timely remediation of audit and regulatory findings pertaining to the assigned business vertical
  • Review of policies and procedures from regulatory compliance perspective and recommend necessary updates.

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Prior experience in digital lending and understanding of wholesale/ mid-market lending products
  • In-depth knowledge of RBIs NBFC–UL regulatory framework, including SBR, governance norms, digital lending guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive ability to translate complex regulations into practical business guidance.
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and presentation abilities with attention to accuracy and clarity.
  • Hands-on experience with RBI inspections, regulatory submissions, and preparation of compliance related MIS and presentations for senior management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • High ethical standards, professional judgment, and attention to detail.
