Job Title: Design Engineer- Mechanical/ Civil (Fabrication Drawings)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to assist the Design/ drawing coordination of the fabrication drawings team for heavy steel structures. The role involves assisting detailing activities, ensuring drawing accuracy, optimizing material usage, and coordinating with production and project teams.

Key Requirements

  • • Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical / Civil / Structural Engineering.
  • • 37 years experience in structural steel detailing & fabrication drawings.
  • • Proficiency in AutoCAD / Tekla / Bocad (certification preferred).
  • • Knowledge of IS codes, welding symbols, bolted/welded connections.
  • • Understanding of fabrication processes, tolerances & BOM preparation.

Responsibilities

  • • Prepare fabrication, assembly & erection drawings from GA/design inputs.
  • • Develop BOM, cutting plans & material lists for procurement.
  • • Ensure drawings are accurate, fabrication-friendly & compliant with codes.
  • • Coordinate with Design Head & production teams for approvals/clarifications.
  • • Maintain revision control & documentation.

  • Strong drafting & detailing skills with accuracy.
  • Ability to visualize 3D structures from 2D drawings.
  • Good communication & problem-solving ability.

  • Shop-ready error-free drawings.
  • Optimized BOM & cutting plans.
  • Timely release of drawings to match production schedules.
