We are now looking for Senior SP3D Piping Designer to execute projects and support bids in Navi Mumbai, India.

Reports To

The Senior SP3D Piping Designer reports to the Line Manager and the assigned Project Manager.

Job Overview

The Senior SP3D Piping Designer is responsible for handling engineering design review and analysis assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas.

In your role, you will Carry out lay-out study, tie-in, feasibility study, design basis as required for various projects and assigned by the Project Manager. You will be required to independently be able to develop piping deliverables, the scope of work, work definitions, piping specifications, datasheets, requisitions, piping engineering calculations, technical bid evaluation, vendor document review, MTO.

Responsibilities and Duties

You will support the team on process industry-based project design work for smooth execution.

• Interact with the project engineering manager to solve technical problems arising during project development.

• Review Client's technical documentation and requirements, interpret topographical and geotechnical survey inputs, carry out detailed site surveys, verification, and data collection.

• Carry out lay-out study, tie-in, feasibility study, design basis, independently able to develop piping deliverables, the scope of work, work definitions, piping specifications, datasheets, requisitions, piping engineering calculations, technical bid evaluation, vendor document review, MTO.

• Organize inputs and supervise for preparation of piping drawings, support design, material take-offs, calculations, material specifications, datasheets, and material requisitions as per ASME 31.3

• Understand the interface within the multi-discipline project.

• Responsible for proper and timely execution of project deliverables ensuring full compliance with the quality management system and any project-specific contractual requirements.

• Ensure effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management teams.

• Coordinate with members of the piping discipline, other engineering disciplines within the organization or project team as well as with Clients, third parties, vendors, etc.

• Participate in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned, and close-out.

• Ability to prepare documents for piping related workshops such as model reviews for lay-out and actively participate in the same.

• Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, material quantity, and budget control

• Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects

• Produce proposals for projects which involve man-hour and schedule estimates for piping discipline

• Able to add value plus/ optimization ideas

• Cooperate with other engineering disciplines, customers and subcontractors locally or overseas

• Able to do Technical Bid Evaluations of selected Vendor Offers

• Check the piping engineering deliverables created by designers and drafters

• Take responsibility for Quality, Health Safety, Energy and Environmental

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering Technology from a Technical Institute.

• Senior Designer shall require 10 years design drafting experience in oil and gas industry or related process industries and 5 years supervisory experience.

• Experience in Oil & Gas Offshore projects. Additional Onshore projects experience is preferable.

• In-depth knowledge of the operation of a modern SP3D based multi-discipline drawing office.

• Excellent experience in design modules of SmartPlant and Aveva suite of application - SMARTPLANT 3D/PDMS

• Excellent AutoCAD skills, Word Processing and Spreadsheet capability. A good understanding of AutoCAD enhancement programs.

• Good experience in site verification, As-Building activities (I.e. Walkthrough, Interpreting data from 3D laser Scanning etc.) and use of Smartplant review, Navisworks and Microstation.

• Good general knowledge of the Standard and Codes applicable to drawings prepared for the Oil industry.

• Strong leadership skills, with written, verbal and analytical skills.

• Good command of English language.
