Role & responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D piping models in SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) based on P&IDs, equipment layouts, and project design standards.
  • Perform pipe routing, nozzle orientation, and equipment interconnection in accordance with project specifications.
  • Generate and extract piping deliverables such as:
  • Piping general arrangement (GA) drawings
  • Isometric drawings and material take-offs (MTOs)
  • Clash detection and interference reports
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, ANSI, API, and project-specific standards.
  • Coordinate closely with process, mechanical, structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure accurate and clash-free designs.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews using SmartPlant Review (SPR) or equivalent tools.
  • Update and maintain the SP3D model database, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Work with the SP3D Administrator to manage project catalogs, piping specifications, and reference data libraries.
  • Support field engineering and construction teams by providing design clarifications and as-built updates.
