Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the complete spectrum of accounting, taxation, and compliance activities with a strong focus on GST, audits, and direct/indirect taxation within the telecom infrastructure sector. The role demands a deep understanding of industry-specific transactions, including tower rentals, inter-company billing, asset capitalization, vendor payments, and site-level accounting.

Key Responsibilities:1. GST & Indirect Taxation:

  • Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C) on a timely basis.
  • Manage GST reconciliation between books, GSTR-2B, and portal data.
  • Handle Input Tax Credit (ITC) validation for tower materials, site expenses, and subcontractor services.
  • Ensure accurate GST compliance for inter-state and intra-state transactions, including lease/rental income and site sharing.
  • Coordinate with tax consultants on GST audits, assessments, and responses to departmental notices.
  • Keep abreast of telecom-related GST circulars, notifications, and exemptions.

2. Direct Taxation:

  • Support in income tax computation, TDS deduction and filing (24Q/26Q), and advance tax payments.
  • Monitor TDS applicability on vendor payments, tower rentals, and site maintenance contracts.
  • Assist in tax audits and preparation of relevant documentation and schedules.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities for queries and assessments.

3. Audit & Compliance:

  • Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors for periodic audits.
  • Prepare detailed audit schedules, ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act, Accounting Standards (Ind AS), and internal policies.
  • Support management reporting with accurate financial and compliance insights.

4. Accounting & Reporting:

  • Oversee month-end closing, ledger scrutiny, and financial statement finalization.
  • Review fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, and project accounting for tower sites.
  • Maintain accurate vendor, customer, and inter-company accounts.
  • Generate MIS reports for management review, highlighting cost and tax implications.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: B.Com / M.Com / CA-Inter / CMA-Inter / MBA (Finance).
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in accounting, GST, and taxation — preferably in telecom, infrastructure, or EPC sectors.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Tally ERP / SAP / Excel / tax portals.
  • Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of GST implications on infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with capital goods, works contracts, and input service credits.
  • Practical exposure to audit and tax assessments.
