SAP Project Manager

Location: Bhubaneswar, Odisha

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Governance

  • Lead and manage complete delivery of SAP projects (ECC & S/4HANA) ensuring scope, timelines, quality, and budget alignment.
  • Define project roadmaps, governance frameworks, and delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, SAP Activate).
  • Conduct project planning, resource allocation, milestone definition, and risk planning.

SAP Implementation Lifecycle Ownership

  • Oversee requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, solution design, configuration, testing (SIT/UAT), cutover, and go-live.
  • Manage all phases of SAP implementation — greenfield, brownfield, and migration.
  • Ensure smooth integration of SAP modules with business processes and third-party systems.

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, SAP functional consultants, technical teams, and leadership groups.
  • Lead status reporting, executive updates, RAID logs, and compliance/audit documentation.
  • Mentor and guide cross-functional delivery teams, fostering collaboration and execution excellence.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and issues through structured project governance.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to avoid delays or delivery failures.
  • Ensure adherence to QA, audit, and organizational policies.

Required Skills & Expertise

SAP & Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on expertise in at least one SAP core module: FICO / MM / SD / SuccessFactors.
  • Proven track record in end-to-end SAP implementation including blueprinting, build, testing, deployment, and hypercare.
  • In-depth understanding of SAP ECC & S/4HANA architectures, processes, and migration methodologies.

Project Management Skills

  • Strong knowledge of PMP, PRINCE2, SAP Activate, or similar project management frameworks.
  • Expertise in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid project models.
  • Ability to manage multi-location, global delivery teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and client-handling capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10+ years of SAP experience with 5+ years in SAP project management.
  • Certification preferred:

o PMP

o PRINCE2

o SAP Activate Project Manager
