Objective

To manage and take responsibilities of all the patients in the ward.Monitoring  all the wards and patients assigned to them from the time of admission to discharge along with providing  proper healthcare treatments  in joint     consultation with other medical consultants.Directing other medical staff and providing medical updates to consultants regarding their patients.

Key Responsibilities

Patient care

• Ensuring smooth functioning of designated floor and responsibiliites assigned.
• Being a clinical point of contact from the time of admission to discharge.
• Complete a brief admission examination on each patient when appropriate and document clinical findings.
•  Attend ward rounds with consulting staff, as required, and be available to discuss patient treatment plans.
• Follow the instructions of consultants for their specific regime for each individual patient.
• Going on quick rounds with other MO's at the time of shift handover so there is clarity of current patients health .
• Rechecking  MO-nights prescribed medication orders .
•  Checking patients prescribed  medication and whether it is properly administered 
• Monitoring vitals like BP etc.
• Informing  about the patients GC
• Inform admitting consultants of changes in medical condition of patients and of relevant action taken.
• Facilitating patient investigations in the hospital
• Coordinating with other departments  during patient investigation.

Medical procedure

• To administer vigo insertion,intra-cath insertion .
• To  insert catheters and perform  various catherization procedure on the patients.
• To carry out Cardiac Arrest and other Emergency Procedures as per hospital policy.
• Perform clinical procedures as requested by consultant medical staff and nursing staff, these may include phlebotomy and the giving of intravenous drugs to patients.
• To participate and assist with operations as required.
• To be completely familiar with emergency equipment.

Report/MIS

• Preparing dischage summaries and updating it on V-Care.
• To provide a full report to Resident Medical Officer commencing the next shift.
• To record all treatments performed in patient notes.
• To participate in clinical audit and implementation of clinical governance.
• To be familiar with centre and company clinical policies. To be aware of the centre's clinical risk programme and report clinical incidents, drug errors and near misses.

Consultation facilitator  /Branding

• Doing internal marketing of hospital to patients and their relatives.
• Building hospital brand in front of patients and their relatives along with offering consultation services.
• Offering hospital services and resources  based on patient request to be performed by outside consultants
