Role Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who will lead the design, prototyping, and optimization of our robotic cleaning platforms. You will work at the intersection of mechanical systems, electronics integration, and real-world environmental constraints (dust, wind, temperature).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical systems and assemblies using CAD software
  • Develop mechanisms for drive systems, brush assemblies, linkages, and enclosures
  • Perform DFMEA, material selection, weight optimization, and stress analysis
  • Collaborate with electronics and controls team for system integration (motors, sensors, PCBs)
  • Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and documentation
  • Manage prototyping, field testing, and iteration based on real-world feedback
  • Work with vendors for CNC, sheet metal, and machining component fabrication
  • Ensure design reliability in outdoor, high-soiling, high-temperature environments

Qualifications

  • Design Engineering, Machine Design, and Product Design skills
  • Mechanical Engineering and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) proficiency
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in the renewable energy robotics is a plus
