Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a
Maintenance Manager
located in
Ahmedabad/Nagpur
. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations, managing maintenance staff, and ensuring that equipment is well-maintained and operational. Daily tasks include conducting preventive maintenance, managing repair activities, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The role involves planning and scheduling maintenance activities, performing inspections, and coordinating with other departments to optimize maintenance efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance
  • Skills in Maintenance Management and Maintenance & Repair
  • Strong Supervisory Skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred
  • Experience in the mobility or transportation industry is a plus

Maintenance Planning & Execution

  • Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of buses.
  • Ensure availability of spares, tools, and manpower to minimize downtime.
  • Track vehicle off-road (VOR) incidents and ensure swift resolution.

Material Management

  • Accountable for procurement, usage, and inventory control of:
  • Repairable and non-repairable parts
  • Scrap disposal
  • New materials – verification and quality checks
  • Ensure compliance with material warranty conditions.
  • Maintain records of material usage as per job cards and material cost per kilometer.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on all KPIs listed above.
  • Ensure accurate records of all repairs, part replacements, and material usage.
  • Liaise with auditors and internal departments to ensure transparency.

Financial Accountability

  • Full ownership of the Maintenance Department P&L.
  • Optimize the cost of spares and services.
  • Track and report:
  • Cost of Material Consumption
  • Material Cost per KM
  • Breakdown-related penalties and revenue losses

Staff Management

  • Lead, train, and motivate the maintenance staff and workshop team.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and maintenance SOPs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in maintenance of commercial vehicles, preferably in public transport or fleet management
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, inventory controls, and cost analysis.
