WebLogic Administrator Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:WebLogic Administration:Install, configure, and maintain WebLogic Server environments across multiple versions (e.g., 10.x, 12c, 14c). Perform day-to-day administration tasks including monitoring, patching, and performance tuning. Implement and manage WebLogic clusters for high availability and scalability.

Manage WebLogic domains and deployments, including the configuration of resources such as JMS, data sources, and managed servers. Troubleshoot and resolve WebLogic Server-related issues, including application server failures, slow performance, and connectivity issues. Linux System Administration:Working experience on Linux-based environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.) as platform for Weblogic deployments.

Manage system resources, monitor server health, and troubleshoot Linux-related issues. Automate routine tasks and weblogic deployments using scripting (e.g., Shell scripting, Ansible, or Python). Manage system security, backups, and server performance on Linux.

Performance Tuning & Optimization:Monitor WebLogic Server performance using tools such as WLST, JConsole, or custom monitoring solutions. Perform root cause analysis and resolve performance bottlenecks or application server failures. Apply performance tuning techniques to optimize resource utilization and response times.

Application Deployment & Support:Work closely with development teams to deploy Java EE applications, including EAR, WAR, and JAR files, to WebLogic Servers. Implement and manage application deployment strategies such as rolling deployments and zero-downtime deployment configurations. Troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues, including classpath, version conflicts, and server configuration issues.

Security & Compliance:Manage security configurations within WebLogic, including authentication, authorization, SSL, and identity management. Configure WebLogic for secure access, including role-based access control (RBAC), and integrate with LDAP or other directory services. Ensure WebLogic servers and applications comply with security best practices and internal security policies.

Certificate Management:Oversee the lifecycle of SSL/TLS certificates for WebLogic Servers, including generation, installation, renewal, and revocation. Work with internal and external certificate authorities (CAs) to manage certificates for secure communication between WebLogic Servers and clients. Ensure proper implementation of SSL certificates to maintain encrypted communication channels between clients and WebLogic servers.

Automate certificate management tasks using scripts or tools to streamline certificate renewal and installation processes. Conduct regular reviews of SSL/TLS configurations to ensure compliance with the latest security protocols (e.g., TLS 1.2, TLS 1.3). Backup and Disaster Recovery:Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for WebLogic Server environments.

Perform periodic backups and conduct disaster recovery testing. Configure WebLogic for fault tolerance and ensure critical applications remain available during server outages. Automation & Scripting:Automate routine WebLogic administration tasks using scripting languages like Shell, Perl, or Python.

Create and maintain scripts to automate server provisioning, configuration, and monitoring. Implement configuration management and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) for WebLogic Server environments. Collaboration & Documentation:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and deliver infrastructure solutions.

Create and maintain detailed documentation for WebLogic configuration, troubleshooting steps, certificate management procedures, and operational procedures. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior WebLogic administrators and developers. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:Troubleshoot WebLogic performance issues and provide timely resolution.

Investigate log files, JVM diagnostics, thread dumps, and heap dumps to identify issues. Collaborate with the development team to debug and resolve application-related issues impacting WebLogic Server. Required Skills and Qualifications:7 years of experience working as a WebLogic Administrator in a production environment.

Hands-on experience with WebLogic installation, configuration, and administration (including WebLogic 12c, 14c). Proficiency in managing WebLogic domains, clusters, and application deployments. Strong knowledge of Java EE applications, JNDI, JMS, and data source configurations.

Experience with WebLogic performance tuning and monitoring tools. Familiarity with WebLogic security configurations (SSL, LDAP, role-based access control). Strong knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate management, including the generation, installation, renewal, and revocation of certificates.

Experience with troubleshooting WebLogic Server issues using logs, diagnostic tools, and JMX.Strong scripting skills in Shell, Perl, Python, or similar languages. Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Familiarity with database and messaging systems (Oracle, SQL, JMS, etc.).

Knowledge of WebLogic integration with other tools (e.g., monitoring, logging, security systems). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document and explain complex concepts clearly.
