Roles & Responsibilities

1. Develop Power BI Reports/ Dashboards:

2. Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI based on business requirements.

3. Ensure visualizations are user-friendly and provide actionable insights for stakeholders.

4. Data Integration, Transformation & Modelling:

5. Connect Power BI to various data sources (SQL, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, other cloud-based data sources) and perform necessary data transformations using Power Query Editor.

6. Hands on Experience in Star and Snowflake schemas and model the data in Power BI as per best practices.

7. Performance Optimization:

8. Optimize Power BI reports and data models for better performance, including managing data refresh and query optimization.

9. Troubleshoot and resolve performance-related issues in reports.

10. Collaboration with Stakeholders:

11. Work with business users to understand their reporting needs and deliver solutions that meet those requirements.

12. Translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure the final product aligns with business goals.

5. Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated on the latest Power BI features and best practices.
• Suggest and implement improvements to existing reports and processes based on feedback and evolving business needs.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Hands-on experience in designing and developing Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Strong expertise in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for both basic & advanced calculations of KPIs to implement business requirements.
• Expertise in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from various sources in Power BI.
• In-depth knowledge in Data Modelling strategies used for creating data models in Power BI.
• Knowledge of implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and implement required data permissions to end users of the reports.
• Experience in Power BI service like Publishing & sharing of reports, creation of Power BI Dashboard at Service, use of Datasets/ Dataflows, Manage accesses etc.
• Ability to analyse and optimize Power BI report performance, refresh times, and dataset efficiency.
• Strong understanding of BI methodologies, KPIs, and dashboard storytelling.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of BI projects, from requirements gathering and design to deployment and post-launch support.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with cloud-based BI solutions, particularly in the Azure ecosystem.
• Microsoft Power BI Certification (PL-300, PL-600, or similar) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Power Automate for automating data refreshes, workflows, and notifications within Power BI.
• Knowledge of Power BI Mobile for report accessibility across devices.
