Packaging Line Supervisor – QA Focus

Role Summary

Supervise and manage all packaging line operations ensuring efficient performance, adherence to quality and hygiene standards, and achievement of daily production targets with minimal wastage. Maintain packaging integrity and compliance with QA and food safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

1. Packaging Line Operations
– Ensure smooth and efficient running of all packaging lines as per daily plan and product specifications.

2. Quality & Compliance

  • Verify Brix, viscosity, sweetness, and temperature of product before filling.
  • Monitor sealing quality, lid alignment, and net weight using check weighers.
  • Ensure packaging materials are as per specifications and maintain correct batch/date coding.
  • Maintain hygiene and prevent contamination in the filling area.

3. In-Process QA Checks
– Conduct appearance, color, and syrup clarity checks; record temperature and batch traceability data.

4. Documentation & Reporting
– Maintain QA logs, daily packaging records, and NCR reports; highlight deviations for corrective action.

5. Manpower Handling
– Allocate and supervise operators and helpers effectively for each shift; ensure proper training and efficiency.

6. Continuous Improvement
– Identify and implement measures to reduce wastage, improve sealing efficiency, and maintain consistency in output.

7. Coordination
– Work with production, maintenance, and QA teams to resolve any line-related deviations or downtime issues promptly.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Sound understanding of food packaging operations and equipment.
  • Knowledge of GMP, food safety, and hygiene practices.
  • Basic QA understanding (Brix, pH, sensory evaluation).
  • Strong coordination, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to make quick, practical decisions on the shop floor.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma / B.Sc / B.Tech in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, or related field.
  • 0–1 year of experience in food or FMCG packaging operations (Indian sweets and frozen desserts experience preferred).
  • Experience with cup, tray, and pouch packaging lines desirable.

Production Line Supervisor – QA Focus

Role Summary

Oversee daily production line activities ensuring adherence to defined process parameters, product quality, hygiene, and safety standards. Achieve production targets efficiently while minimizing wastage and ensuring compliance with QA protocols.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Line Management
– Ensure smooth and efficient execution of production as per plan and defined product recipes.

2. Process Monitoring

  • Control Brix, texture, temperature, and cooking parameters for Rabdi, Halwa, and Gulab Jamun.
  • Monitor syrup concentration, frying time, and drain weight for product uniformity.

3. Ingredient & Material Verification
– Check raw materials against QA specifications and ensure FIFO is followed for freshness.

4. Hygiene & Sanitation
– Maintain process hygiene, oversee cleaning between product changeovers, and prevent cross-contamination.

5. QA Sampling & Checks
– Conduct in-process checks (moisture, Brix, pH, sensory); record time-temperature data for traceability.

6. Documentation & Reporting
– Maintain BMRs, yield data, and deviation reports accurately; coordinate with QA for NCR and CAPA actions.

7. Equipment Oversight
– Ensure cleaning, maintenance, and calibration of key instruments used in production.

8. Continuous Improvement
– Work on yield enhancement, waste reduction, and process efficiency improvements.

  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to monitor and control key process parameters.
  • Effective leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
