Location:
Kochi, Kerala
Experience:
04 to 10 years of experience in retail buying, preferably in the kids' category (apparel, footwear, or accessories) for a reputed retail chain.
We are hiring for a dynamic and experienced Central Buyer for REO Team to manage the Kids Category (Apparel, Footwear, Accessories, and related products) for our retail business. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, vendor management expertise, and a keen understanding of consumer trends in kid's segment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Planning & Strategy:
Develop and implement buying strategies for the Kids Category to achieve sales, margin, and inventory targets.
Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
- Vendor Management & Sourcing:
Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers, brands, and manufacturers.
Ensure timely procurement of merchandise while maintaining quality standards and cost efficiency.
- Merchandise & Assortment Planning:
Create and manage seasonal buying plans based on demand forecasts and sales analysis.
Optimize product mix, pricing, and stock levels across stores and online channels.
- Inventory & Financial Control:
Monitor stock levels, sales performance, and markdown strategies to ensure healthy inventory turnover.
Achieve planned budgets, margins, and profitability for the category.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing, visual merchandising, and operations teams to execute category strategies and promotions.
Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams for smooth delivery and replenishment.
- Market Research & Trend Analysis:
Stay updated on emerging trends, customer preferences and innovation in kids fashion and accessories.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of retail buying and category management for kids products.
Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in sales forecasting, budgeting, and inventory management.
Good understanding of fashion trends, seasonal collections, and pricing strategies.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making abilities.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Fashion Management, Retail Management, or a related field. MBA or PG in Retail/Fashion Management is an added advantage
