Job Overview

Function Overview

This is a new role in the Raw Material Forecast space. The Raw Material Forecast Planner will be accountable for driving and maintaining accurate forecasts for raw materials, ensuring sufficient supply to support production while optimizing inventory and costs. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will leverage data analysis, statistical modeling to optimize the raw material forecast, inventory levels, minimize supply disruptions, and ensure the timely availability of raw materials to support production targets and requirements to our suppliers.

Purpose of the role

The purpose of the job is to support the Supply Planning function by providing innovative solutions and help to implement them to optimize/standardize processes, which will bring improvement to the overall forecasting approach, resulting in better accuracy. Explore and take up opportunities supporting demand planning efforts by creating and executing industry-standard approaches.

Key Accountabilities

Raw Material Forecast Planning (70% of the time)

  • Responsible for owning the raw material forecast for the business unit.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy, validity and identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to enhance reliability.
  • Partner with region planning teams to provide statistical forecasting and demand analytics expertise.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Raw Material forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and supply chain performance. Report on key findings and recommend improvements and mitigation strategies. 
  • Collaborate with Plan team to ensure enough on hand and minimize waste and obsolescence through forecast insights.
  • Perform descriptive & diagnostics analysis on historical demand & shipment data to identify, analyze and interpret patterns and trends for diagnosis and prediction.
  • Understand different forecasting models, analyze forecasting outputs, and prepare final analysis reports for the Raw Material Planning Leads to understand the data analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends.
  • Constantly engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment in forecast numbers.
  • Coordinate with technical/data science teams to identify process improvement opportunities, validate outputs, propose modification if required.
  • Must have good understanding of statistical forecasting and raw material planning.

Drive optimal raw material forecast accuracy to minimize forecast volatility and bias, directly impacting supply chain efficiency and cost management. Analyze forecast performance, identify key insights, and translate them into actionable recommendations for the business.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Planning
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain relevant experience in planning, forecasting process, basic operations, inventory planning, and statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain planning processes
  • Deep business knowledge and industry experience
  • Ability to comprehend and articulate supply chain and business needs and impacts
