Senior PHP Developer (Strong Database Expertise)

Experience: 4+ years

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior PHP Developer with a strong background in database design, optimization, and management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality web applications, maintaining and enhancing existing systems, and ensuring robust data structures to support scalability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain high-performance, scalable PHP-based applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
  • Design and optimize complex relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).
  • Write efficient SQL queries and stored procedures for large-scale data operations.
  • Ensure data integrity and security through effective architecture and code practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications.
  • Implement best practices for database backups, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Work with DevOps to support deployment and CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in PHP 7+ (OOP, MVC frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter).
  • Deep experience with relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL).
  • Strong understanding of database normalization, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with ORM tools (Eloquent, Doctrine, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API development and integration.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
  • Good understanding of security best practices (e.g., SQL injection prevention, data encryption).
  • Experience with caching strategies (Redis, Memcached) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good Communication skills .

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹60,000.00 per month
