Job Summary:
The Heavy Trailer Driver is responsible for operating heavy-duty trailers to transport materials, equipment, or goods safely and efficiently. The driver must follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations to ensure timely and secure deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy trailer trucks for transporting goods or materials to assigned destinations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring secure and balanced placement.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, trip records, fuel usage, and delivery reports.
- Follow all traffic rules, road safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Coordinate with dispatchers and supervisors regarding delivery routes and schedules.
- Conduct basic maintenance such as checking oil, tires, water level, and reporting mechanical issues.
- Ensure safe driving practices to prevent accidents, damage, or delays.
- Support in emergency situations such as breakdowns or cargo handling issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of the trailer.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid qatar Heavy Vehicle Driving License (Trailer Category).
- Minimum 2–5 years experience in operating heavy trailers (GCC/Gulf experience preferred if applicable).
- Good knowledge of roads, routes, and transport safety rules.
- Ability to handle long-distance and overnight travel if needed.
- Physically fit and able to handle loading/unloading tasks if required.
- Basic communication skills to coordinate with teams and clients.
Skills Required:
- Safe and defensive driving skills.
- Time management and route planning.
- Attention to detail and vehicle care.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor/field-based work with long hours of driving.
- May require travel across cities or borders depending on company operations.
