Reports To: Engineering Manager / Plant Manager

Job Overview:

The Mechanical Engineer (Metallurgy) will be responsible for overseeing metallurgical processes, ensuring product quality, and maintaining equipment in line with industry standards. The role involves monitoring production processes, conducting quality tests, and collaborating with the operations team to optimize efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Metallurgical Process Management:
  • Supervise and improve metallurgical processes, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Evaluate and control the metallurgical properties of materials used in manufacturing.
  • Ensure that all products meet the specified mechanical and chemical standards.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing:
  • Conduct and document various tests, including hardness, tensile strength, and other physical properties.
  • Identify and troubleshoot quality issues to minimize defects in production.
  • Work with the quality control team to implement corrective actions for process improvements.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Optimization:
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of equipment used in metallurgical processes.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure smooth functioning of machinery and tools.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements for improved operational efficiency.
  • Technical Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of process parameters, test results, and production data.
  • Prepare reports on quality performance and identify trends or areas for improvement.
  • Document and standardize process procedures to align with industry best practices.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols within the plant.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Participate in training programs related to workplace safety and process handling.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Metallurgy.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a metallurgical or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of metallurgical testing, process optimization, and quality assurance practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address process issues effectively.
  • Communication: Clear communication skills for reporting and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Other: Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and relevant equipment handling.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25, ₹30,102.71 per month
