Sales Associate

The Sales Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving sales, and contributing to a positive and welcoming store environment. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers, requiring a passion for our products and an ability to forge lasting relationships.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement & Sales:
- Greet customers promptly, authentically, and in an engaging manner.
- Actively seek out customers on the sales floor, listen to their needs, and suggest suitable products and services.
- Achieve or exceed individual and team sales goals by leveraging product knowledge, suggestive selling, and upselling techniques.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Handle customer inquiries, returns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Store Operations & Merchandising:
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including restocking shelves and arranging product displays.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as receiving shipments, conducting stock counts, and reporting product discrepancies.
- Ensure all merchandising and visual directives are implemented and maintained correctly.
- Support loss prevention efforts by monitoring the sales floor and following security procedures.
- Teamwork & Product Knowledge:
- Collaborate effectively with team members and management to ensure all customers receive the best possible service.
- Stay informed about all product features, benefits, promotions, and store policies to serve as a product expert.
- Attend all required training sessions and team meetings.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven ability to develop relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work a retail schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic math and computer skills, including familiarity with POS systems.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (e.g., up to 30 lbs) for restocking.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in a retail, sales, or other customer-facing role.
- A keen interest in the product industry (e.g., fashion, electronics, health).
