Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for procurement of machine shop tooling, casting parts, machined components, and standard bought-out items used in heavy machinery manufacturing.

• Identify and develop reliable vendors for A-class standard and bought-out parts, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

• Evaluate supplier quotations and negotiate optimal terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to meet production and cost objectives.

• Ensure procurement of parts at correct and competitive prices without compromising on quality standards.
• Raise purchase orders in ERP system, track order status, and ensure timely material availability.
• Collaborate closely with design, production, quality, and stores departments to ensure alignment of specifications and lead times.
• Manage supplier performance and take corrective actions when needed to maintain continuous supply and quality.
• Maintain updated records of purchases, suppliers, pricing history, and market trends.
• Work on cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and alternate supplier development.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with planning for replenishment without overstocking.
• Conduct periodic audits and evaluations of supplier facilities as required.

Candidate Profile:

• Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Experience: 5 to 10 years in procurement or purchase of machine shop tools, machined components, casting parts, and standard bought-out items in a heavy engineering or machinery manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, and costing techniques.
• Proficient in using ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / similar).
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
