Role & responsibilities

Audit & Financial Reporting:

  • Lead and manage internal and statutory audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review audit schedules, financial statements, and audit documentation.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with company policies and applicable standards.

Accounting Operations:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial data through robust accounting practices.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Regulatory Compliance (NBFC):

  • Ensure adherence to RBI guidelines and other statutory requirements applicable to NBFCs.
  • Prepare and file regulatory reports including income tax, GST, and other statutory filings.
  • Stay updated on changes in NBFC regulations and implement necessary changes in processes.

Internal Controls & Risk Management:

  • Design and implement internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures.

Team Leadership & Coordination:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, and operations.
  • Mentor and supervise junior accounting and audit staff.
  • Foster a culture of compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Taxation & Statutory Filings:

  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings (Income Tax, GST, etc.).

Coordinate with tax consultants to optimize the companys tax position.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) India
  • Experience: 7 to 10 years in accounting and audit roles, preferably within NBFCs or financial services. Minimum 3 years of team management experience.
  • Audit Background: Strong experience in handling internal and statutory audits, preferably in NBFC or financial institutions.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Deep understanding of NBFC operations, audit processes, and financial regulations.
  • Proficient in taxation laws (GST, Income Tax) and RBI guidelines.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in NBFCs with exposure to audit, risk management, and asset recovery.
  • Knowledge of NPA (Non-Performing Assets) management and recovery processes.
  • Experience in managing audits and regulatory inspections.
