About Us

Mechaniya is an emerging textile-based studio dedicated to innovative use of knitwear fabrics, sustainable production, community empowerment, and contemporary design sensibilities. Our mission is to blend cutting-edge knitwear technology with traditional artistry.

We invite passionate students from the field of art and design to work closely with our creative team. The graduation project will focus on documenting the studio's journey, developing brand stories, and crafting compelling marketing and communication collaterals for our merchandise.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Document studio processes, designer/artisan interviews, and creative workflows through photos, video, drawings, and written content
  • Develop marketing collateral including lookbooks, brand brochures, social media campaigns, and newsletters
  • Research and propose fresh branding/ publication/ communication/ marketing strategies for Mechaniya, reflecting on the brand's product line, principles, and values
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to translate concepts into audience-centric communication
  • Assist in planning photoshoots and other promotional activities
  • Generate and organize content for digital platforms – website, Instagram, and e-commerce listings

Apply if you are:

  • A student active in final year of undergraduate or postgraduate courses in fields like Fashion Communication/ Graphic Design/ Fine Arts/ Visual Communication Design, and other similar fields, with project approval requirements
  • A creative thinker curious about the fusion of machine-made and handcrafted textiles
  • Interested in furthering portfolio in visual communication, packaging, branding, and storytelling
  • Skilled in photography, writing, content creation, and social media management
  • Proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Figma, AI-based tools and other creative tools. Premiere/After Effects is not mandatory, but desirable.
