Responsibilities

1. Preparation of Bills

  • Prepare client bills (RA Bills, final bills) as per contract specifications.
  • Prepare subcontractor bills based on their completed work.
  • Verify quantities from site and update billing sheets.

2. Quantity Surveying & Measurement

  • Take measurements on site for all executed work.
  • Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and ensure the work is within approved quantities.
  • Check deviations and extra items beyond tender quantities.

3. Rate Analysis

  • Perform analysis for new or non-tendered items.
  • Verify unit rates as per contractual agreements.

4. Documentation & Records

  • Maintain records of work done, materials used, and cost-related documents.
  • Keep track of drawings, revisions, work orders, and site instructions.
  • Maintain measurement books (MB), quantity sheets, and billing logs.

5. Coordination

  • Coordinate with site engineers for measurements and work progress.
  • Communicate with clients and consultants for bill certification.
  • Work with the project management team for cost updates and progress reporting.

6. Contract & Payment Management

  • Ensure bills follow contractual terms and technical specifications.
  • Follow up with clients for payment release.
  • Handle reconciliation of materials and subcontractor payments.

7. Cost Control & Budgeting

  • Help in project budgeting and cost estimation.
  • Track project costs against the approved budget.
  • Monitor cost overruns and advise on corrective actions.

8. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure that billed work complies with construction standards and drawings.
  • Assist in preparing QA/QC records related to billing.

Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of construction measurement methods.
  • Ability to read architectural/structural drawings.
  • Proficiency in software: AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project/Primavera, billing software.
  • Analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • Knowledge of contracts (FIDIC, CPWD, etc.).

Typical Qualifications

  • B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in quantity surveying/billing roles preferred.
