The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Accountant to join our Global Accounting and Reporting team, supporting APAC operations. In this role, you will take ownership of key accounting processes assigned such as fixed assets, cash operations, lease accounting, statistical returns and reporting, etc.
You will play an integral part to support in maintaining key performance management reporting, developing and implementing financial management systems, policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency, ensure consistent financial performance and mitigate risk across APAC operations. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily accounting operations for assigned processes, such as fixed asset accounting, cash operations, lease accounting, prepayment, statistical returns and reporting across APAC entities.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and quarter-end close for US GAAP and local GAAP, including managing outsourced service providers.
- Review and validate accounting journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.
- Deliver insightful financial commentary on P&L and balance sheet movements for the areas of responsibility.
- Ensure timely submission and full compliance of statistical returns and regulatory reports to relevant government authorities.
- Support the development and maintenance of key financial metrics dashboards and reporting tools, analyze and identify key drivers and trends.
- Drive process efficiency and system enhancements to optimize accounting operations.
- Recommend updates to policies and procedures based on global best practices and evolving business needs.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for desk procedures, SOX controls and process narratives.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies for assigned processes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and shared services teams on accounting and process matters.
- Resolve accounting issues promptly and effectively.
- Manage assigned projects and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, decision-ready information to our business partners as needed.
- Support external audit requirements and provide documentation for areas of responsibility.
- Handle ad hoc requests from leadership as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in working as a Chartered Accountant (CA)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience in a multinational company
- Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS and/or other accounting standards.
- Proficiency with automation tools, MS Office Tools (Excel), PowerBI and other data analytics technologies..
Preferred Qualifications and experience:
- Experience working in shared service environment and managing accounting processes
- Experience with Oracle, Blackline and/or other ERP systems, in a multi-entity and multi-currency environment.
- Experience with local compliance regulations for APAC countries (e.g. statistical returns, government surveys, FEMA, SAFE, MIIT/NBS, etc)
- Strong project management skills and capable of administering multiple simultaneous tasks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong collaboration and partnership skills, with ability to build successful relationships with multiple stakeholders across geographies.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced growth environment and work efficiently and independently to meet deadlines.
- Experience with PowerBI, along with AI/Gen-AI technologies
- Experience with local compliance
