Position: Junior Scientist

Location: Parwanoo, Himachal Pradesh

Experience Required: 3–9 Years

Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days

Total Experience: 3–9 Years

Qualifications :-

• M.Sc./M.Tech. with 3+ years of relevant research experience OR
• Ph.D. in Membrane Science, Biomaterials, Enzyme Immobilization, Biotechnology, Polymer Science, or closely related fields.

Key Responsibilities :-

• Design, modify, and characterize membranes for biosensing and enzyme immobilization in diagnostic sensor platforms.
• Develop and optimize enzyme immobilization strategies (covalent bonding, adsorption, entrapment) to improve stability and performance.
• Collaborate with materials science and electrochemistry teams for device integration.
• Perform experimental analysis of membranes (porosity, hydrophilicity, thickness) and immobilized enzymes (activity, stability).
• Document experimental procedures, results, and conclusions with accuracy.
• Contribute to validation studies for laboratory and field applications.
• Prepare technical reports, patents, and publications.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration, and follow safety guidelines.
• Participate in interdepartmental collaborations and external vendor management.
• Travel for field trials, supplier visits, or meetings when required.

Knowledge / Experience :-

Essential:

• Hands-on expertise in membrane design and fabrication for biosensors/biomedical devices.
• Strong understanding of enzyme immobilization techniques and their performance evaluation.
• Experience in membrane and biomolecule characterization.
• Proven track record in applied or translational research (academic or industrial).

Preferred :-

• Knowledge of polymers, hydrogels, and surface modification methods.
• Understanding of electrochemical sensing principles.
• Proficiency in analytical tools: SEM, FTIR, Contact Angle, UV-vis, CV, EIS, Chronoamperometry.
• Prior use of Design of Experiments (DoE) for optimization.

Skills and Abilities :-

• Ability to analyze literature and propose innovative concepts.
• Strong skills in experimental design, data analysis, and problem-solving.
• Technical writing skills for research reports, publications, and patents.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication for team and cross-functional collaborations.
• Proficiency in scientific data handling software and lab documentation.
