Job Summary:
The Purchase Assistant is responsible for supporting the purchasing department in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services needed by the company. The role involves maintaining accurate purchase records, coordinating with vendors, ensuring timely delivery, and assisting in maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers and vendors based on price, quality, and delivery.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, quotations, and related documents.
- Coordinate with the accounts department for invoice processing and payment follow-up.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
- Track and monitor the delivery status of all pending orders.
- Ensure timely replenishment of stock materials to avoid shortages.
- Support the Purchase Manager in vendor negotiations and supplier relationship management.
- Communicate with internal departments to understand material requirements and specifications.
- Compare price quotations and prepare cost analysis reports.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (freshers can also apply).
- Good knowledge of purchase procedures and documentation.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel and Word).
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
