Job Description : Oracle Finance Functional Consultant

The Oracle Fusion Finance Consultant will lead and deliver Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials implementations, working closely with business and technology teams to design, configure, and deploy finance solutions that align with organizational objectives. The consultant must have hands-on experience across at least three end-to-end Fusion Financials implementation projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle Oracle Fusion Finance implementations, including discovery, requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, data migration, cutover, and post-go-live support.
  • Work with finance stakeholders (CFO organization, controllers, finance managers) to analyse current processes and design future-state processes leveraging Oracle Fusion best practices.
  • Configure core Fusion Financial modules such as General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Cash Management (CM), and Tax, including chart of accounts, ledgers, legal entities, and subledger setups.
  • Prepare functional designs for extensions, integrations, and reports (BI/OTBI/FRS), and collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions meet business and compliance requirements.
  • Plan and execute testing cycles (SIT, UAT), including test scenarios, defect triage, and signoff, ensuring solution quality and auditability.
  • Lead cutover planning, deployment activities, and hyper-care support, ensuring smooth transition from legacy systems to Fusion Cloud.
  • Provide user training, create process and configuration documentation, and support change management to drive adoption of the new finance solution.

Required skills and experience

  • Minimum 710 years of experience as an Oracle Financials/Fusion Finance functional consultant, including at least 3 end-to-end Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials implementations.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in Oracle E-Business Suite Financials, including involvement in migration or upgrade projects to Oracle Fusion Cloud, will be considered a strong plus.
  • Strong functional expertise in core Fusion Financials modules (GL, AP, AR, FA, CM; Tax preferable), including configuration and end-to-end finance process knowledge (Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash).
  • Proven experience in requirements analysis, fit-gap, solution design, CRPs, conference room pilots, and global template/rollout projects.
  • Experience with data migration (opening balances, subledger historical data), integrations with upstream/downstream systems, and reconciliation between Fusion and legacy/third-party applications.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, statutory and management reporting, and regulatory/compliance needs in finance (IFRS/GAAP awareness preferred).
  • Proficiency with Oracle reporting tools (OTBI, BI Publisher, FRS) and familiarity with security roles, approvals, and workflow setups in Fusion.

Education and soft skills

  • Bachelor/Master Business Management degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field; professional finance qualification (CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Strong client-facing skills: able to lead workshops, manage stakeholders, and communicate complex finance and system topics to both business and technical audiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and presentation skills, with the ability to work in global, cross-functional implementation teams.
