  • Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer with strong experience in ETL, BI, and Data Testing. The role involves validating data pipelines, ETL processes, and BI dashboards (Tableau/SSIS/DataStage) to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and performance. The candidate will work closely with data engineers, BI developers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data and reporting solutions.

### Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ETL workflows and BI dashboards.
  • Perform end-to-end data validation including source-to-target mapping, transformation rules, and business logic.
  • Test ETL jobs developed using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and IBM DataStage.
  • Validate Tableau dashboards and BI reports for data accuracy, performance, and visualization correctness.
  • Develop and execute complex SQL queries to validate data integrity across multiple systems.
  • Perform data reconciliation, profiling, and quality checks in data warehouse and reporting environments.
  • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business analysts to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Document test results, track defects, and provide clear QA metrics to stakeholders.
  • Support automation of BI/ETL testing where possible.

### Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–8 years of experience in ETL, BI, or Data Warehouse testing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with ETL tools – SSIS, IBM DataStage.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau BI dashboards and ability to validate reports and data visualizations.
  • Strong SQL expertise for data validation, reconciliation, and complex queries.
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts, data modeling, and BI processes.
  • Experience in testing source-to-target mappings (STTM) and transformation logic.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in Agile/Scrum environments.

### Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with other BI tools (Power BI, Business Objects).
  • Exposure to ETL/BI testing automation frameworks (QuerySurge, Informatica DVO, Selenium + DB).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).

### Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
