Assistant Manager – Tax (GST + Income Tax) (CA, 3–5 yrs)

Summary:
Chartered Accountant owning end-to-end indirect (GST) and direct (TDS/TCS) compliance, controls, and month-end tax close. Sets SOPs, reviews filings, handles notices at L1/L2.

Core responsibilities:

Indirect Tax:

  • Own monthly GST Return filing (GSTR-1/6/8/3B), annual GSTR-9 with 9C support; sign-off on 2B vs books reconciliations, RCM and PoS reviews.
  • Oversee e-invoice/e-way bill governance; refund/LUT reviews where relevant.

Direct Tax:

  • TDS/TCS computation calculation, payments (ITNS-281), quarterly returns (24Q/26Q/27Q/27EQ), TRACES demands & corrections.
  • Assistance in Income Tax Audit, form 15CA filing, 26AS Reconciliation.
  • Build and enforce SOPs, maker-checker, and tax close checklists; drive automation with ERP/Excel/Power Query.
  • Coordinate audits/assessments; finalize MIS (ITC aging, liabilities, open demands).

Must-have:

  • CA; 3–5 yrs blended GST + TDS/TCS; strong ERP exposure (Tally/SAP/Oracle); advanced Excel; notice handling.

KPIs:

  • On-time filings; zero-defect acceptance rate; demand closure TAT; ITC mismatch aging; audit observations closed.
