About Lokal

In 2018, we began with a WhatsApp group with a simple hypothesis: people in tier-2/3 towns weren't really using the internet meaningfully yet. We believed that if we started with local content in their own language, they'd come back every day; once there was a habit and trust, that same space could naturally grow into classifieds and, eventually, something they used for almost everything online.

This spark became Lokal. Our first instinct was to put everything in one place & one app - local updates, classifieds, jobs, matrimony and more. It worked, till it stopped working. Users gave us the insight - when one use case outweighs the others, everything else seems like noise. We listened. Like how Craigslist quietly seeded a generation of focused companies & marketplaces, we began unbundling and verticalising.

Today, Lokal is a house of focused apps, many products, one mission:
To connect Tier-2/3+ India to the Knowledge, opportunities, tools and experts they've always deserved.

Role Overview:

We are seeking dynamic, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individuals to take on a hybrid role that combines Tele calling and Trust & Safety/moderation. In this role, you will make outbound calls to potential users, onboard them onto the Eaze platform and ensure the quality and compliance of the app.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills in Bengali (read, write, and speak), be comfortable handling rejections, and have a strong sense of judgment for moderating sensitive content.

Key Responsibilities:

Tele Calling & Wellness Buddies Onboarding:

• Make outbound calls to potential and existing Wellness Buddies to inform them about products and services.
• Follow up on leads generated through various marketing campaigns.
• Maintain detailed records of host interactions and transactions.
• Achieve daily/weekly/monthly call and conversion targets.
• Provide accurate and timely information to Wellness buddies.
• Stay updated with the latest products, services, and promotional offers.
• Train & Onboarding new Wellness Buddies as per Guidelines of App.

Trust & Safety:

• Review and audit user-generated audio and video conversations for adherence to platforms guidelines.
• Identify and flag content that violates platform policies, including inappropriate or harmful speech.
• Maintain clear and consistent application of moderation standards across all reviewed content.
• Keep accurate records of moderation activities and contribute to internal reports.
• Engage with users/hosts to provide clarity on platform policies when required.
• Handle sensitive and potentially disturbing content with professionalism and emotional resilience.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Tele Caller or in a comparable position.
• Outstanding verbal communication skills in Bengali & Hindi, with fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Capable of managing wellness buddy rejections with patience.
• Fundamental knowledge of computer operations, CRM, and Excel.
• Exemplary listening and negotiation skills, coupled with a positive demeanor and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
