We're looking for a creative and detail-oriented Surface Pattern & Print Designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for composition, color, and texture, and loves translating artistic ideas into timeless, print-ready surfaces. You'll work closely with our founder and creative team to design original wallpapers, patterns, and surface collections for both kids and bespoke clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept Development:

Translate briefs and inspirations into cohesive design concepts, moodboards, and color palettes.

  • Motif Creation:

Hand-draw or digitally illustrate motifs inspired by nature, architecture, craft, and culture.

  • Pattern Development:

Build seamless, repeatable surface patterns (half-drop, straight, block, etc.) suited for wallpaper and textile applications.

  • Digitization & Refinement:

Digitize hand-drawn artwork, refine details, and prepare vector and raster artwork for production.

  • Color & Scale Exploration:

Experiment with multiple colorways and pattern scales to create balanced, harmonious compositions.

  • Sampling & Proofing:

Coordinate with the production team for sampling, test prints, and color accuracy checks.

  • Collection Building:

Work on themed pattern collections with clear storytelling and visual consistency.

  • Collaboration:

Liaise with illustrators, stylists, and photographers for shoot and catalog development.

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
  • Knowledge of pattern repeats, tiling, and scaling for large-format printing
  • Understanding of print production (CMYK, color management, texture overlays, etc.)
  • Ability to work from hand-drawn sketches or digital illustrations
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • A strong sense of aesthetics and visual storytelling
  • Bonus: Experience in textile, wallpaper, or home décor design

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Textile Design, Surface Design, or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in surface pattern design (fresh talent with an exceptional portfolio may also apply)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing original pattern work, motif creation, and repeat design capability
