The QSR Cashier serves as the frontline ambassador of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient customer transactions while delivering exceptional service. This role requires speed, accuracy, and a friendly demeanor to enhance the customer experience in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction HandlingOperate POS (Point of Sale) systems to process orders and payments accurately.

  • Handle cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments, and coupons.
  • Issue receipts and return correct change.
  • Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.

Customer ServiceGreet customers warmly and answer questions about menu items or promotions.

  • Upsell or suggest add-ons to increase sales.
  • Resolve customer complaints or escalate to a supervisor when necessary.
  • Maintain a polite and professional attitude at all times.

Order Accuracy & CoordinationConfirm order details with customers before finalizing.

  • Communicate clearly with kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation.
  • Monitor order status and inform customers of any delays.
  • Cleanliness & OrganizationKeep the cashier station clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Follow hygiene and safety protocols, including sanitizing surfaces regularly.
  • Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the dining area when needed.

Inventory & SuppliesMonitor stock levels of packaging materials (bags, napkins, etc.) at the counter.

  • Report shortages or restock items as required.

Skills & QualificationsBasic math and cash-handling skills.

  • Familiarity with POS systems and digital payment platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to assist in other areas when needed.
