- **Customer service**Cashiers should be able to answer questions and concerns about charges on guests' bills. They should also be able to resolve customer complaints.
- **Other duties**Cashiers may also complete check-in and check-out procedures, distribute month-end reports, and train new staff.
- **Cash handling**Cashiers may cash out registers at the end of their shift.

Some skills that are useful for hotel cashiers include:

- **Math skills**Cashiers need to be able to calculate room rates, corporate discounts, and add up charges.
- **Customer service skills**Cashiers should be able to interact positively with customers and provide helpful support.
- **Ability to work under pressure**Cashiers should be able to stay calm and work efficiently during busy periods.
- **Attention to detail**Cashiers should pay attention to detail.
