Job Summary

The Back End Developer II plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems that power our AI-enabled SaaS platform. This role focuses on building robust APIs, data services, and integration layers that support intelligent automation, data-driven decision-making, and seamless user experiences. The ideal candidate has a strong background in backend development, cloud-native architectures, and experience working with AI/ML-powered applications in a production environment.

Your role will involve writing efficient and maintainable code, tackling complex problems, and contributing to code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for Node / TypeScript Backend and work together with front-end components written in React / TypeScript Front-end web app.
• Work on cross-functional teams to understand requirements and propose innovative solutions
• Identify and resolve software defects and technical issues
• Engage in code reviews to ensure superior quality and performance
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to less-experienced engineers
• Identify and address the most pressing problems for our customers.
• Design and build tools to enable efficient development and usage of our platform.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years building production micro-services in (+TypeScript)
• Deep understanding of RESTful design, gRPC/Protobuf, and asynchronous messaging, and caching (RabbitMQ / Redis)
• Hands-on experience with Azure Container Apps or Container Services, Front Door, API Management, Storage Accounts, and MySQL Flexible Server
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, git, and best practice software engineering
• Practical security know-how: OAuth2, JWT, safe data mitigation, rate limiting
• Data modelling with relational + NoSQL stores; comfort writing performant SQL
• Excellent communication; able to translate business workflows into clean service contracts

Nice To Have

• Experience proxying or streaming requests to LLMs or ML inference endpoints.
• Familiarity with HR tooling ecosystems or recruiting domain schemas.
• Exposure to event sourcing.
• OpenAPI/Swagger and code-gen pipelines.

Tech Stack: TypeScript (frontend & backend), React, , MySQL, Redis, Python, FastAPI. Infrastructure hosted on Azure.
