About Alohomora Education Foundation (AEF)
AEF is a not-for-profit organization committed to helping students in government schools make informed career choices and successfully transition to higher education or skill-building pathways. Since 2017, AEF has focused on students in Grades 9-12, working closely with teachers and community facilitators to enable career exploration at scale.
Our Approach:
- AEF builds ecosystems in partnership with key government stakeholders, ensuring that career guidance is sustained and contextually relevant.
- We collaborate with state education departments, leveraging their reach while co-designing curriculum, processes, and tools that local educators can deliver in classrooms and communities.
- Our ways of working emphasize capacity building—training teachers, facilitators, and youth leaders so career exploration becomes part of the school culture. Field visits, regular feedback loops, and strong partnerships help us adapt to local needs and ensure quality implementation.
Impact and Recognition:
- AEF's innovative model was recognized by the World Bank Youth Summit and our flagship initiative, Pratibha Manthan, won 1st prize at the District Good Governance Award in Jhajjar, Haryana.
- We currently operate in Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Bihar, collaborating with 340+ schools, 600+ teachers and facilitators, and reaching over 39,000 students. We also empower 150+ Youth Leaders to champion career guidance in their communities.
