Job Purpose:

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets, driving business growth, and managing distributor/retailer relationships in the assigned territory. This role involves leading a sales team, developing channel strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction to maximize revenue and market share.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned area.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market reach.
  • Drive secondary and tertiary sales through effective channel management.
  • Team Management
  • Recruit, train, and mentor Sales Officers/Executives.
  • Set performance goals and review team productivity regularly.
  • Motivate the team to achieve individual and collective targets.
  • Channel & Distribution Management
  • Manage distributor and retailer networks to ensure product availability.
  • Monitor stock levels, order placements, and credit control.
  • Implement trade marketing activities and promotional schemes.
  • Market Intelligence
  • Track competitor activities, pricing, and promotional campaigns.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to recommend strategies.
  • Gather customer feedback to improve products and services.
  • Reporting & Compliance
  • Submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and market updates.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing, and discount structures.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, collections, and expenses.
