Project Lead Better Cotton

Job Summary: Responsible for the strategic management and coordination of Better Cotton Project[CK1] , leading a team of development professionals to implement sustainable agricultural practices. Focused on enhancing cotton farming communities through capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and effective project execution aligned with Better Cotton standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Oversight: Lead the strategic management and coordination of Better Cotton project across India, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and Better Cotton standards.
Team Development: Identify performance gaps, plan capacity-building initiatives, and motivate and train team members to effectively implement project activities.
Planning & Implementation: Develop and execute strategic and operational plans in accordance with Better Cotton standards and project requirements.
Financial Oversight: Review financial statements, budgets, and activity reports to assess productivity, ensure goal achievement, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and program improvement.
Gap Analysis & Strategy Development: Identify implementation gaps and support the development of corrective strategies to ensure compliance with Better Cotton standards.
Budget Management: preparation, review, and monitoring of project budgets and expenditure statements.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular project updates, activity reports, and document best practices and success stories for internal and external stakeholders.
Research & MIS Support: Contribute to research, studies, and the development of Management Information Systems (MIS), including the creation and assessment of qualitative indicators.
Team Leadership: Manage and supervise project teams, fostering a disciplined, collaborative, and high-performing work culture.
Co-ordination with Better Cotton India and Global Team: Continuous and ongoing engagement with all concern team members for matter related to project – planning, review, growth and learning
Fund Raising: Exploring funding for growth and expansion of project interventions and impact.

Operational Excellence: Proactive in addressing a wide range of operational challenges with strategic solutions and hands-on management.
Subject Matter Expertise: Deep knowledge of Better Cotton standards and sustainable agriculture practices; continuously updates knowledge through research and field surveys.
Capacity Building: Skilled in upgrading team capabilities through training and orientation to align with project objectives.
Reporting & Technical Proficiency: Competent in preparing reports, analysing data, and documenting project activities and best practices.
Project & People Management: Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale projects and diverse teams across geographies.
Communication & Networking: Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate and build networks with all stakeholders.
Digital Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation, analysis, and presentations.
Preferred
Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Agricultural or a relevant development field, with a strong foundation in sustainable agriculture and rural development practices.
Experience:
Minimum 10 [CK2] yrs of experience in the development sector with relevant experience in similar capacity.
